RBI Money Market Operations: July 3, 2026

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its money market operations data for July 3, 2026. The figures show active liquidity absorption across both overnight and term segments. Overall, the RBI net absorbed ₹1,67,906.18 crore on a combined outstanding basis.

Key Details of Money Market Operations

The overnight segment recorded a total volume of ₹23,229.40 crore. The weighted average rate for this segment stood at 5.13%, with rates ranging between 4.70% and 5.50%. Call Money traded at a weighted average rate of 4.90%, while Triparty Repo settled at 5.06%. Meanwhile, Market Repo and Repo in Corporate Bonds traded at 5.37% and 5.30% respectively.

The term segment saw significantly higher volumes. Triparty Repo dominated with ₹4,94,411.30 crore at a weighted average rate of 5.10%. Additionally, Market Repo recorded ₹1,77,039.94 crore at 5.02%. Notice Money transactions totalled ₹18,618.43 crore at 5.28%, while Term Money ranged between 5.50% and 6.25%.

RBI Liquidity Operations and Reserve Position

Under the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF), the RBI lent ₹76 crore overnight at 5.50% on July 3. However, the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) absorbed a far larger ₹1,77,558 crore at 5.00% for one day. As a result, today’s net liquidity absorption stood at ₹1,78,975 crore.

The RBI also extended ₹11,068.82 crore through its Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF). Therefore, the net outstanding liquidity, including today’s operations, showed absorption of ₹1,67,906.18 crore. This reflects the RBI’s continued effort to manage surplus liquidity in the banking system.

Scheduled commercial banks held cash balances of ₹8,21,397.68 crore with the RBI as on July 3, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 15, 2026, was ₹7,98,115 crore. Additionally, the net durable liquidity surplus as on June 15, 2026, was ₹4,82,130 crore. The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction was zero on this date.
