RBI Money Market Operations: July 7, 2026

India’s money market operations on July 7, 2026, showed active liquidity management by the Reserve Bank of India. The RBI money market data reveals a total overnight segment volume of ₹6,52,286.99 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.16%. These figures reflect the central bank’s continued focus on maintaining stable short-term rates.

Key Details of RBI Money Market Operations

The overnight segment included four key instruments. Call Money recorded a volume of ₹17,876.66 crore at a weighted average rate of 5.25%. Triparty Repo dominated with ₹4,55,374.40 crore at 5.14%, while Market Repo contributed ₹1,72,427.83 crore at 5.19%. Additionally, Repo in Corporate Bond added ₹6,608.10 crore at a rate of 5.31%.

The term segment also saw activity. Notice Money stood at ₹131.50 crore, and Term Money reached ₹1,028.00 crore. Term Triparty Repo recorded ₹1,970.00 crore at 5.31%, meanwhile Term Market Repo came in at ₹120.00 crore at 5.52%.

RBI Liquidity Operations and Reserve Position

The RBI conducted a Variable Rate Repo Operation on July 7, 2026, injecting ₹1,135.00 crore at a cut-off rate of 5.26% for one day. The Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) saw ₹241.00 crore availed at 5.50%. However, the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) absorbed a significant ₹1,51,892.00 crore at 5.00%, resulting in net liquidity absorption of ₹1,50,516.00 crore from today’s operations.

Outstanding operations showed a 3-day Variable Rate Repo of ₹14,600.00 crore from July 6, maturing July 9. As a result, the net liquidity injected from outstanding operations stood at ₹24,683.82 crore, including Standing Liquidity Facility support of ₹10,083.82 crore. Therefore, the net overall liquidity position, including today’s operations, reflects an absorption of ₹1,25,832.18 crore.

On the reserve front, scheduled commercial banks held cash balances of ₹7,83,825.83 crore with the RBI on July 7, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 15, 2026, is ₹7,98,115.00 crore. Meanwhile, net durable liquidity as of June 15, 2026, stood at a surplus of ₹4,82,130.00 crore, indicating comfortable systemic liquidity conditions overall.
