RBI Money Market Operations: June 24, 2026

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its money market operations data for June 24, 2026. The overnight segment recorded a total volume of ₹6,76,503.87 crore. Meanwhile, the weighted average rate stood at 5.22%, with rates ranging between 4.00% and 5.60%.

Key Details of RBI Money Market Operations

Call Money transactions totalled ₹21,919.29 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.37%. Triparty Repo dominated the overnight segment, recording ₹4,62,044.80 crore at 5.20%. Additionally, Market Repo contributed ₹1,87,136.98 crore, while Repo in Corporate Bond added ₹5,402.80 crore at a rate of 5.40%.

The Term Segment saw comparatively lower activity. Notice Money transactions reached ₹141 crore at 5.51%, and Term Money volumes stood at ₹50.50 crore. Term Triparty Repo recorded ₹2,007 crore, and Term Market Repo added ₹1,049.32 crore at 5.50%.

RBI Liquidity Operations and Reserve Position

The RBI absorbed ₹1,42,338 crore through the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) on June 24. However, it also extended ₹724 crore via the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF). As a result, net liquidity from today’s operations showed an absorption of ₹1,41,614 crore.

Outstanding variable rate repo operations from June 23 stood at ₹1,41,171 crore, maturing on June 30, 2026. The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI amounted to ₹10,754.89 crore. Therefore, the net liquidity injected from outstanding operations reached ₹1,51,925.89 crore.

Overall, the net liquidity injected, including today’s and outstanding operations, stood at ₹10,311.89 crore. This indicates a broadly balanced liquidity position in the banking system.

Cash Reserves and Durable Liquidity

Scheduled Commercial Banks held cash balances of ₹7,71,964.81 crore with the RBI as on June 24, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending June 30 stands at ₹8,01,069 crore. Additionally, the Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction was nil on this date.

Net durable liquidity in the banking system recorded a surplus of ₹4,86,400 crore as of May 31, 2026. This reflects comfortable systemic liquidity conditions overall. For more details, refer to the official RBI press release.
