RBI Money Market Operations: June 25, 2026

The Reserve Bank of India released its RBI money market operations data for June 25, 2026. The overnight segment recorded a total volume of ₹6,65,304.77 crore. Meanwhile, the weighted average rate stood at 5.30%, with rates ranging between 4.00% and 5.65%.

Key Details of RBI Money Market Operations

The overnight segment comprised four key components. Call Money volumes reached ₹19,561.97 crore at a weighted average rate of 5.39%. Additionally, Triparty Repo dominated the segment with ₹4,55,431.35 crore, while Market Repo contributed ₹1,84,881.45 crore at 5.27%. Repo in Corporate Bond added ₹5,430 crore at 5.36%.

The term segment showed more modest activity. Notice Money traded at ₹299.90 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.32%. Term Money transactions reached ₹131.50 crore, with rates ranging between 5.55% and 7.85%. However, no Repo in Corporate Bond transactions occurred in the term segment on this date.

RBI Liquidity Operations and Reserve Position

The RBI conducted a Variable Rate Repo operation on June 25, 2026, injecting ₹16,800 crore at a cut-off rate of 5.26% for a four-day tenor. Additionally, banks accessed the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) for ₹185 crore at 5.50%. As a result, the net liquidity absorbed from today’s operations stood at ₹1,12,729 crore.

Outstanding repo operations from June 23, 2026, totalled ₹1,41,171 crore at 5.26%. The Standing Liquidity Facility availed from the RBI amounted to ₹10,754.89 crore. Therefore, the net liquidity injected from outstanding operations reached ₹1,51,925.89 crore.

Scheduled commercial banks held cash balances with the RBI worth ₹8,17,853.71 crore as on June 25, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending June 30, 2026, stood at ₹8,01,069 crore. Furthermore, net durable liquidity recorded a surplus of ₹4,86,400 crore as on May 31, 2026, signalling comfortable system liquidity conditions.

The Government of India’s surplus cash balance reckoned for auction stood at ₹16,800 crore. Overall, the net liquidity injected, including both outstanding and today’s operations, amounted to ₹39,196.89 crore.
