The RBI accepted six government securities under this open market operation. Together, they cover maturities ranging from 2029 to 2032. The table below summarises the accepted amounts and cut-off levels.

What This RBI OMO Sale Means for Markets
Through this RBI OMO sale, the central bank absorbs excess liquidity from the banking system. As a result, bond yields in the secondary market may adjust to reflect these new cut-off levels. Therefore, traders and investors will closely watch how yields move in the coming sessions.
The 2032 securities dominated the auction in volume terms. For example, the 6.54% GS 2032 alone accounted for more than half of the total amount. This signals strong RBI intent to drain longer-duration liquidity from the system.
Additionally, the cut-off yields across all six securities remained above 6.6%, reflecting current market rate expectations. The RBI did not set a security-wise notified amount, giving it flexibility in allocation. Detailed results will be issued separately by the Reserve Bank.
