RBI Launches Q2 2026-27 Industrial Outlook Survey

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the 115th round of its quarterly Industrial Outlook Survey (IOS) for Q2 2026-27. This round covers the reference period of July to September 2026. The RBI Industrial Outlook Survey aims to capture business sentiments across India’s manufacturing sector.

Key Details of the RBI Industrial Outlook Survey

The survey assesses current business conditions for Q2 2026-27 and collects expectations for the following quarter, Q3 2026-27. Additionally, it covers the outlook for Q4 2026-27 and Q1 2027-28. Respondents share qualitative feedback on demand conditions, financial conditions, employment, and price trends. Therefore, the findings give a broad picture of how Indian manufacturers view the economy.

M/s Genesis Management & Market Research Pvt. Ltd. has been authorised to conduct the survey on the RBI’s behalf. However, participation is not limited to companies the agency contacts directly. Other manufacturing companies can also join by downloading the questionnaire from the RBI’s official website under the ‘Survey’ section. They can then e-mail the completed form as per the contact details provided therein.

What This Means for India’s Manufacturing Sector

The RBI releases the survey findings in summary form on its website regularly. As a result, businesses, analysts, and policymakers can track shifting sentiments across key economic indicators. Importantly, the identity of all respondents remains confidential, encouraging honest participation.

Meanwhile, manufacturing companies looking to contribute to this important data exercise should act promptly. The survey covers a wide set of indicators, making it a valuable tool for understanding ground-level economic trends. For example, insights on employment and demand conditions directly inform monetary policy decisions.
