India’s money market operations on July 14, 2026, showed active participation across overnight and term segments, according to the latest RBI money market data. The total overnight segment volume reached ₹6,51,261.72 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.13%. These figures reflect the current liquidity conditions in the Indian banking system.
Key Details of RBI Money Market Operations
The overnight segment comprised four major components. Call Money recorded a volume of ₹22,662.51 crore at a weighted average rate of 5.24%. Meanwhile, Triparty Repo dominated with ₹4,42,650.85 crore at 5.09%, while Market Repo contributed ₹1,78,336.51 crore at 5.19%. Additionally, Repo in Corporate Bond added ₹7,611.85 crore at a rate of 5.38%.
The term segment saw relatively modest activity. Notice Money stood at ₹60.50 crore, and Term Money recorded ₹267.00 crore. Furthermore, Triparty Repo in the term segment clocked ₹6,871.50 crore at 5.17%, while Market Repo contributed ₹469.76 crore at 5.50%.
RBI Liquidity Operations and Reserve Position
On the liquidity front, the RBI absorbed significant funds through its Standing Deposit Facility (SDF). The central bank absorbed ₹1,59,077.00 crore via the SDF at 5.00% for a one-day tenor. However, the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) saw a small injection of ₹201.00 crore at 5.50%. As a result, net liquidity from today’s operations stood at a net absorption of ₹1,58,876.00 crore.
The RBI money market data also revealed that the Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from RBI amounted to ₹10,083.82 crore. Therefore, net liquidity from outstanding operations showed an injection of ₹10,083.82 crore. Overall, the net liquidity position, including both today’s and outstanding operations, reflected a net absorption of ₹1,48,792.18 crore.
On the reserve position, scheduled commercial banks held cash balances of ₹7,68,838.88 crore with the RBI as on July 14, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 15, 2026, was ₹7,98,115.00 crore. Meanwhile, net durable liquidity as on June 15, 2026, stood at a surplus of ₹4,82,130.00 crore, indicating an overall comfortable liquidity environment in the system.
