The Reserve Bank of India released its money market operations data for July 6, 2026. The overnight segment recorded a combined volume of ₹6,85,433 crore. The weighted average rate stood at 5.14%, with rates ranging between 2.50% and 5.50%.
Key Money Market Operations Data
Call Money transactions totalled ₹17,791 crore at a weighted average rate of 5.25%. Meanwhile, Triparty Repo dominated overnight volumes at ₹4,85,626 crore, with a rate of 5.14%. Market Repo added ₹1,75,624 crore at 5.12%, while Repo in Corporate Bonds contributed ₹6,393 crore at a higher rate of 5.32%.
In the term segment, Notice Money saw ₹147 crore at 5.16%. Additionally, Term Money transactions reached ₹1,570 crore, with rates ranging from 5.25% to 6.00%. Term Triparty Repo accounted for ₹2,617 crore at 5.15%.
RBI Liquidity Operations and Reserve Position
On July 6, the RBI conducted a variable rate repo operation of ₹14,600 crore for a 3-day tenor at a cut-off rate of 5.26%. Banks also accessed the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) for ₹5,737 crore at 5.50%. As a result, the RBI absorbed ₹1,49,525 crore through the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) at 5.00%.
Therefore, the net liquidity position from today’s operations stood at a net absorption of ₹1,29,188 crore. However, the Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed from the RBI added ₹10,084 crore. Overall, the net liquidity injected, including outstanding operations, reflected a net absorption of ₹1,19,104 crore.
Scheduled commercial banks held cash balances of ₹8,27,395 crore with the RBI as of July 6, 2026. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending July 15, 2026 was ₹7,98,115 crore. Additionally, the net durable liquidity surplus stood at ₹4,82,130 crore as of June 15, 2026. The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction was ₹14,600 crore on the same date.
